I am Frans Van Laer founder of FVL Technical & Production Services. My company specializes in the maintenance of high technology paper folding machines from the company GUK in Germany.
After a career as a technician and productivity engineer, I decided to start my own company. This was in response to the need in many manufacturing companies where GUK Falzmaschinen technology was incorporated into their packaging machines.
I followed a thorough training at GUK’s home base in Wellendingen, so the common GUK packaging machines no longer hold any secrets for me.

FVL Technical & Production Services helps production leaders to achieve their production goals. This by relieving companies of GUK machine maintenance and fine tuning during (offline) test runs of built-in or stand-alone GUK folding machines. Maintenance and fine tuning takes the entire production line to the next level.
We determine and examine which wear parts need replacement. After ordering the parts from GUK Germany and delivery to the customer, a date for replacement, fine-tuning and extensive testing can be scheduled. So that there is a carefree production start-up. Parts that are in good condition help determine production performance.
Using LEAN techniques, we carry out a thorough analysis of the operation of the entire production line or parts of it. An improvement plan is drawn up in cooperation with the customer. Good production results are achieved when all actors are attuned to each other.
The maintenance and operation of the several Cartonac high-tech leaflet folding machines is 100% known by FVL Technical & Production Services. The Cartonac machines process loose paper leaflets (1 layer- up to 3 layers of paper) into a nicely folded leaflet that is brought into the cartoning machine in the desired width. (Photos by GUK)
